Hao Yang Tickets
from $10.00

While we regret to announce that Italian classical guitarist Giulia Ballaré is unable to be part of our International Artists Series on March 14, we are thrilled to announce that Hao Yang will take her place that evening— and your tickets are transferable.

Hailed as “technical wizard”, Chinese classical guitarist Hao Yang is the winner of the 2024 Koblenz International Guitar Competition “Hubert Käppel”, the second prize winner of the 2024 GFA International Concert Artist Competition, and recipient of the Clifton Foundation’s Emerging Artists Award. Her other competitive prizes include the first prize at the Twisted Spruce Music Foundation, second prize at the 54th Markneukirchen International Instrumental competition in Germany (first prize not awarded), first prizes at GFA International Youth Competition, CSU International Guitar Competition, and Andres Segovia 7th International Guitar Competition.

Hao actively engages in solo and chamber music performances internationally. She has appeared as soloist with the Chusachsische Philharmonie in Germany, and regularly gives solo recitals at major guitar festivals, including past performances at the Cleveland, Panama, and Beijing International Guitar Festivals. She has performed concerts in major venues such as the Carnegie Hall, Kimmel Center, National Centre for the Performing Arts, New York Subculture, Miller Theatre, and Princeton University.

As a chamber music enthusiast, Hao made her Carnegie Hall debut premiering guitar duo ‘Talking Guitars’ by renowned composer Paul Lansky with JIJI. She has been invited to perform on the PCMS series, and was a guest artist at the NEXUS Chamber Music and Concordia Chamber Festival. Hao regularly collaborates with friends and colleagues to present guitar in various chamber ensemble settings, such as guitar quintets, voice and guitar, and piano and guitar. Her recent concert projects include a Chinese poetry inspired program for soprano and guitar.
