We start things off with a bang: GRAMMY award-winning guitarist Sharon Isbin is returning to her hometown—the Twin Cities—to perform for us for two nights in September. In October the MGS will stage French guitarist Virgile Barthe, who took the Guitar Foundation of America’s (GFA) top prize last year in the International Concert Artist competition. In November classical guitarist Sanel Redžić of Bosnia and Herzegovina will grace the Sundin stage. As is our tradition, in December we will stage our Classical Guitarathon, featuring an array of accomplished local guitarists playing a varied and lively repertoire. Then, after a break in January, our season continues in February with a performance by Bluvenduo—winners of the GFA’s 2025 International Ensemble Competition—a musical collaboration between guitarists Zhanxiang Shi (China) and Sebastian Robles (Canada). In March the MGS will stage another ensemble, Cavatina Duo, which is comprised of Spanish flutist Eugenia Moliner and Bosnian guitarist Denis Azabagić. Vera Danilina of Russia—a guitarist, teacher and laureate of numerous international competitions—will round out our classical guitar season in April. Finally, in May your season ticket includes access to the Youth Guitarathon. This concert is your opportunity to cheer on the next generation of local guitarists. Performers aged 6 to 21 will audition to play for us, and they never disappoint!

All of these concerts will be held at the intimate setting of Sundin Music Hall, located on the campus of Hamline University, at 1531 Hewitt Avenue, St Paul.
